Preparing children for adult life is seen primarily as the responsibility of parents and teachers. Yet the benefits and opportunities for other sections of society to make a contribution, particularly businesses, are manifold.
The basic idea behind our School Programme is to present to the children a real workplace making them share a unique experience they will never forget. During the 90 minutes visit, the children will be given aprons and hats to wear over their school uniforms and have a tour of the restaurant, including the jobs people do and tasting the ingredients! The highlight of the visit is when the children make their own individual pizza. The whole experience helps to bridge the gap between classroom theory and 'real life' as the visit touches on subjects such as hygiene, food technology, health and safety to name but a few.
