Charity starts at home

... that is what we at PizzaExpress believe. A big part of our mission goes beyond serving the best Italian pizza in Hong Kong, we also believe it is our corporate responsibility to support local and regional charities. Since 2001 PizzaExpress has supported a number of local charities by making a donation of $8 from the sale of each of our charity pizzas. From time to time we have also hosted special events, had special charity menus and even donated a whole day's sales to a variety of worthy causes. With your help, we have raised more than $1 million over the last two years.

On 8/8 We Raised $88K for Chi Heng Foundation

PizzaExpress opened Hong Kong’s first Pop-Up restaurant at Central’s ifc Mall on January 19, 2011. We had several amazing months in ifc and celebrated the last day of our pop-up by raising money for one of our favourite charities. On Monday August 8, we donated our whole day’s sales at PizzaExpress ifc to Chi Heng Foundation in support of their work for children in China. Our aim was to raise over HK$88,000. On the afternoon of August 8, ifc Mall gave us a surprise to extend our Pop-Up's last day to August 14. This would not have happened without the support of our amazing customers.

We chose Chi Heng as we find they are unique – they make a long-term commitment to the children, where their goal is to help them complete their education rather than giving them one-off support.
“We want to share our success with an organization who is committed to long term provision of hope, to continuously give back to the community which aligns with our goal [at PizzaExpress]” says Justin Kennedy, Managing Director of PizzaExpress Hong Kong.

Save The Tigers 2011

A hundred years ago there were 100,000 tigers in the wild.
Today there are as few as 3,200.

The PizzaExpress team loves tigers, and we want to work together with our customers and our partners at WWF to help raise money in support of WWF’s goal of doubling the number of wild tigers between now and the next Year of the Tiger in 2022.

We donated one day's sales on January 12, 2011 to support WWF's tiger conservation programs in China. In addition to that, we organized two Save The Tigers pizza making parties with WWF for our Junior Club members so they can play tiger games, learn about the tigers and make pizza.

Sedan Chair Charities Fund

The Sedan Chair Charities Fund was established to raise money for needy charities in Hong Kong, many of which are dedicated to improving the welfare of Hong Kong's young people. The charitable organizations which are supported generally do not receive assistance from the main fundraising bodies like Community Chest, Hong Kong Jockey Club or the Government and are reliant on the continuous efforts from the SCCF. PizzaExpress has supported SCCF since our opening in 2001. We donate $8 from the sale of every Four Seasons pizza to the fund.

PizzaExpress’ Pink Birthday

October 2009 marked the 8th anniversary of the opening of our first restaurant in Hong Kong and we celebrated our birthday by participating in the Hong Kong Cancer Fund's Pink Revolution.
We managed to raise over HK$300,000 by donating all of the proceeds from all of our restaurants on 10th October to the Pink Revolution. On this day we were delighted to have Mrs. Sally Lo, Chairman of Hong Kong Cancer Fund, to join with 64 members of our Junior PizzaExpress Club and their families to make a giant 8-shaped birthday pizza to celebrate this special event.
Pink Revolution is the Cancer Fund’s annual breast cancer awareness and fund raising campaign.
